Vidmex

There are plenty of media players to choose from if all you want is an application that can play video files. But if you want a media player that has several other features to offer, then you need to check out the Gromkov’s Software-developed Vidmex (that's short for Video Music Experience). With this application you can edit videos, convert videos from one format to another, split and merge multiple video files, and extract audio or images from video files.

The Vidmex installation file weighs in at less than 1MB. At such a lightweight size, it will take but a moment for the download to complete. The multimedia tool can be installed on any Windows edition from Windows 98 SE up to Windows 7. A simple setup wizard will guide you through the installation process.

The interface is quite simple and typical of what you would expect from a media player. There are three skins to choose from: Ice, Blue Digital, and Aqua. The position of the buttons on the interface changes depending on which skin you choose. But no matter which one you choose, you should not have any problems with the interface, considering that it is so easy to use. With Vidmex you can view a variety of video files (AVI, MPEG4, DivX, WMV, ASF, OGM, MKV, MOV, MP4, RM, VOB, VCD, MPEG1, MPEG2, and more) and open various music files (AAC, AC3, AIFF, APE, AU, CDA, FLAC, MIDI, MKA, MP3, OGG, RA, WAV, WMA, and more). While watching a video, you can adjust the brightness, contrast, saturation, and play with the color controls. You can also add various effects, such as blurring or emboss.

If you want to extract sound fragments or images from videos, you can do that with the Vidmex application. You can also convert videos from one format to another, join multiple video files into one larger file, split a large video file into multiple smaller pieces, and insert a custom logo, image or animation into a video fragment.

Please note that the trial version of Vidmex is feature-limited; you won’t be able to use some of the features mentioned above.

Vidmex is a good choice for anyone who wants an easy to use media player that does more than just play video files.
